"Pros: This is a small ryokan in Nabari. The value was excellent as we had both breakfast and dinner. The food was very filling. The onsen was just off the shared bathroom and wasn’t great. There weren’t many others staying there so we had the bathroom to ourselves when we used it. You can lock the door when you are using it. The staff was very friendly and spoke pretty good English. They were very helpful. We stayed there in order to do the Akame 48 waterfalls. This was a perfect 4 hour hike. We loved that but Nabari itself wasn’t very interesting. Having our meals at the hotel was super. If you want dinner arrange it beforehand by message if it is not already included. It was not expensive and was almost too much food!
The bed is a tatami on the floor which is very firm compared to a bed. That took some getting used to.
Overall this hotel was a real experience of how Japanese travel. Not fancy but everything we needed." ~Virginia
