"Pros: This a humble hotel in an isolated location. If you want to experience what the Japanese experience this is the place. It is older and everything works but it is definately dated. The food was excellent and we had the fixed menu dinner and breakfast for 2 days. We loved hanging about in a yukata and haori for the duration of our stay, and the easy access to the onsen overlooking the river. This is not a fancy place, but it is a genuine experience so suited us perfectly. Cons: We liked it all, but it is not a place for someone looking for activities other than onsen, hiking and food. It is close as the crow flies to Koyasan but the tiny roads meant the drive was 45 minutes. Also, the rooms we had were futon beds in a tatami room, which is not for everyone." ~Guy
