"Pros: The highlights of this hotel were the public onsen by the sea (incredible sea view especially from the outdoor pool) and the very good breakfast buffet (featuring many many items, a lot of japanese food but also croissants, french toast, fruits...). The rest was disappointing.
Cons: The hotel is clearly not renovated enough, I could not believe it has 5 stars. The rooms, while spacious, have flaky and yellowing walls. The mini kitchen looks old. The private onsen would have a nice view on the sea, were it not for the totally unnecessary netting on the entire balcony were the bathtub is. The staff is not as attentive as in other hotels of this standing and many details were lacking (e.g., having to ask for the welcome drink and then the only non alcoholic option is a bottle of artificial fruit juice). Location is not ideal but works well to see sights with the bus."

"Pros: We booked the premium room with tatami area. Our room was really spacious and clean. I really liked how there was a private garden in our room—really peaceful and lovely. When we entered the room, we were met with the living room, with a view of the garden where you can spend time on the veranda! There’s also a mini kitchen with cutleries! The dressing room, restroom, bathroom, and the best of them all the PRIVATE ONSEN were separated. (All of the rooms were really big!) There were two bedrooms—one in the tatami room where they laid out the futon for us.
I really enjoyed the kaiseki course at their restaurant Matsuhide—each course was carefully crafted and use of local ingredients. And their breakfast was superb! They drove us to the Seikai building—the breakfast buffet had a large variety of Japanese dishes. It was really good too.
Sadly, we only booked for a night, so we didn’t get to enjoy their various facilities as much as we’d like (there were the Gahama tower and onsen).
Another thing I’d like to mention was the tea ceremony building! Read the history posted in front and was amazed by the historical significance of it!
Cons: A bit far from the train station, would be convenient to travel by car?"
