"Pros: Spotlessly clean, tidy studio apartment, thoughtful, they left a bottle of prosecco and pandoro to welcome us. Cons: This is my review with an experience of 20 years of travelling. We were greeted by a gentle young lady. After unpacking, we took our first showers. We quickly discovered that the shower drain was clogged, causing water to spill and flood the bathroom. We immediately informed the host, who responded that they would come to check it the following day. Later, we prepared to sleep but noticed that the curtains didn’t block the light effectively, as they were positioned about 20cm away from the window. This was compounded by a bright safety light outside the window that remained on all night and couldn’t be turned off. Without an eye mask, it was hard to block out the light. When I asked the host about this, they said they weren’t sure but would look into it the next day. The challenges didn’t end there. The mattress on the left side of the bed was sagging. We turned off the AC to sleep, but being on the ground floor and without a towel rack or radiator to dry the air, the room quickly became cold and damp. The combination of the uncomfortable bed, bright light, and humid conditions made sleeping difficult. Additionally, the studio is located near the building’s lift, and we were disturbed by the sound of the lift slamming doors throughout the night. By morning, we sent a message to the host explaining the issues and requesting to move out. After an hour without a response, I contacted Booking.com, as it was Christmas Eve and we needed to secure alternative accommodation urgently. Customer service advised us to check out and book a new place given the circumstances. Following their advice, we started packing and secured a new booking. After this, the host responded, offering just a partial refund of €280 for the six-night stay. We followed Booking advice and were expecting to pay just the first night (137€), instead we were charged 520€. We checked out, but the studio was not re-listed as promised. "Pros: convenient location , quiet , room was great . the host was enthusiastic with information about the area which was good As a whole it was good Cons: breakfast was a voucher for pastry and coffee in a local cafe not sufficient compared to other hotels that’s we had stayed recently on this trip . common area in premises very hot and humid and we were unable to located the A/C control after the host checked us in and left (the air con had been turned off)" ~Lucretia
