"Cons: We founded a group called "Friends of Italy" because every year, a group of 6–8 of us go on vacation to this country we love so much. We always feel exceptionally comfortable there and have had very good experiences with the warmth and helpfulness of the accommodation owners, whose properties we book through Booking.com. However, this time the accommodation was a nightmare. Although we had agreed with the owner to arrive at 4:00 PM, she was not waiting for us at the main locked entrance to the street where the house was located. Only after another phone call did she come out of the house to meet us. Communication with her was awkward, and it took some time before she even showed us the house. That’s when the shock came. It turned out that out of the five rooms we had booked, three were located in the basement without windows, only with vents leading to the ground floor. The other two rooms had air conditioning, but in one of them, once turned on, water started dripping onto the floor. Even though I informed the owner, she didn’t bother to come and check or fix the issue, so we had to place a container under it the entire time to prevent the room from flooding. The terrace on the house was unusable—there wasn’t a single chair, table, or parasol for shade. The dishwasher didn’t work; the owner claimed it had just broken down. There was no drinking water in the house. We didn’t receive any confirmation of payment. It was the worst accommodation experience we’ve encountered in many, many years. Never again." ~Miroslav

"Cons: I really don't like the fact that we spent 42 euros for sleeping on a couch. I get they are reconstructing, but a warning beforehand or a discount would be nice. Also, early check-in till 18:00 is nonsence, this kind of accommodation when they ask you to let them know two and half hours before you arrive should not be at Booking at all. At least arrange self check-in for your guests!" ~Lucie

"Pros: Good location, close to the beach and train station. Enjoyed the patio table. The host was accommodating and friendly. Cons: Both Bedrooms were in the basement, without proper ventilation (no AC and windows opening into a wall)" ~Francisca
