"Pros: The place is beautiful as are the surrounds. The interiors design and furnishings are well thought out and quite stunning. Views to die for and great gardens and surrounds. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. We booked a white truffle hunting experience with a local expert which was a real highlight of our trip. Cons: We travelled in November which is slow season so the restaurant we were told we must booked in advance at the time of booking. When we checked in we were told there was no choice of menu. The 3 items on the menu were not to my liking and so I asked for a simple salad I was told a flat out NO by the chef as there were no salad items in the kitchen. The hotel is in the middle of know where and I was forced to order a dish I did not desire. The dish then was served and was the size of a small appetizer with the price of an expensive main course. The food experience was very disappointing. I understand from the owner that the hotel works mainly in weddings so I suppose one-off guests are not a priority. We had booked a couples massage but after waiting 30 minutes the masseuse informed us the other masseuse was ill and so we had to reduce the time of our massages and go one after the other. That was fine but not the romantic experience we had booked and to be honest the massage was a little on the light side with a lot of instructions to breath in and out which I suppose was intended to relax but had the opposite effect. We asked for an outdoor heater that we were offered at checkin be bought to our wonderful private terrace to enjoy the views in the late afternoon and watch the sun go down only to be told they had run out of gas." ~Sophie
