"Pros: Elisa is the most marvellous host. She made my stay easy and comfortable, and she speaks Italian, French, and English. Breakfasts were great and I enjoyed Elisa’s company then. The room (I had 1934) is lovely, all the more so knowing this was the host’s mother’s apartment. Comfy bed, kettle. I adored the shower - honestly, this is the first genuine non-slip floor (resin, apparently) I’ve used in all my life. It’s great having a balcony to watch the street action. Luckily, double glazing blocks the weekend noise of hoons at night. The location is the best available, I think- next to St Peter’s, opposite tourist info and the original chocolate shop which put Modica on the map. Cons: I’d love to magic a lift, as 38 steps are difficult for (old) me. However, Elisa organised someone to carry my luggage up and down, so all was well." ~Sarah
