"Pros: It’s a very stylish very large apartment with everything you would require for a short or longer break in Lecce. Gabrielle is a fantastic host who is very proud of his home which originally was owned by his Great Grandfather. He is a great communicator and was waiting outside holding a car park for us. This home has been completely renovated, but the original architecture remains. It’s a good pleasant 10 minute walk to the entrance of the old town and there is plenty of parking available outside the apartment ( most of it free, but some hours have to be paid…it’s cheap at 0.60c per hr. We absolutely loved the kitchen, where we were able to cook a decent dinner or two. We’ve been traveling for one month now and it becomes expensive and tedious eating out each night. We still have another 2 months of travel ahead. So to have decent dishes, utensils a bit of olive oil or salt is rare, let alone an oven!!!! We tend to choose apartments for this fact, but it’s frustrating when there isn’t a chopping board, or a sharp knife etc…so 11/10 to our host for taking this into consideration . Another bonus, even though there is a lively wine bar next door, the house is so well insulated that you hear nothing.😴 Cons: It wasn’t really a problem, but as these style of homes are very well insulated, it always felt cold inside even though it was a lovely day outside. The only form of heating is reverse cycle air con, so the rooms took a while to warm up because of the size of the apartment and the very high ceilings. The mattress is very comfy, however the bed base is extremely creaky, so if you have a restless sleeper beside you, you know about it!" ~Larraine

"Pros: Staying at Palazzo Console was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had in a long time. From the bed linens to the breakfast menu and the warmth of the staff, everything was flawless. "Pros: The location and proximity to the old town is perfect. The room is decently sized and well laid out. Breakfast is handy and just what you need. There’s an incredible pizza restaurant super close called Loop! Cons: The shower is in the bedroom so if your sharing with anyone other than a spouse it may be a little difficult." ~Nicholas
