"Pros: If you have any interest at all in the history of Monte Cassino during WW2 you must stay here. Pino, the owner is a gentleman and a scholar and the perfect host. He must surely know more about the Monte Cassino campaigns than anyone else alive. He has turned an interest, unobtrusively, into a museum, a library and an amazing archive. The hotel and rooms are super comfortable and spacious. We had a huge balcony with incredible views of the hilltop monastery. All staff were very helpful and friendly. The location is excellent with good restaurants nearby. Breakfast offered great and filling choices. We are cycle-touring and the team found us a secure, safe place to keep our bikes. I knew that my father had been at Monte Cassino but knew very little else. Pino researched over night and in the morning told me exactly where my father would have been and showed me on a map exactly where. He then pointed me to some detailed accounts of what happened in May 1944 and i have finally learned so much mote about my Dad. It was very moving and I cannot thank Pino enough Cons: Nothing.
