"Pros: The location, although difficult to find on arrival first day--and clear instructions to guests would be most welcome--is stunning, perched high on a hill with panoramic views over the whole countryside and coast. Beautiful, modern property with gorgeous garden at the front. Our room had a large terrace with a jacuzzi, sunbeds and table and chairs. It was too hot to sit out there for most of the day until late afternoon. However, a sun umbrella arrived the morning we left. The property has free onsite parking. Pleasant staff. Cons: Breakfast is only served in the room, which is definitely NOT made clear when booking. Our terrace had no sunshade so was very hot even early morning, meaning that the breakfast tray had to be perched somehow on the small table or desk in the room. There was no choice offered, so just a selection of an odd assortment of food. Everything was cold by the time it got to us: toast, scrambled eggs, and worst of all, coffee, and no option for tea other than a couple of tea bags next to the room's kettle, and no milk. Things were often missed out such as butter. We protested after the first morning so they consented for us to go to the breakfast buffet at the restaurant they own next door, where we also went for dinner twice--very nice food, very slow, indifferent service. The hotel seems to be run according to the convenience of the staff, not the guests. Our room was not serviced one day, and when we mentioned it at the front desk, it was a case of "oh, OK..." The property is beautiful, but most of their business, and the one they seem to care most about, is based on functions such as weddings, anniversaries etc. Same for the restaurant next door, which they own. Sometimes extremely noisy at night with loud bands etc." ~Brooks
