"Pros: The grounds and the cabins at Mayan Sari were wonderful! The grounds are very well kept. The beach was very clean. Staff is exceptionally helpful and friendly and the swimming pool area at Nirwana hotel is thoroughly enjoyable. The chef at Mayan Sari restaurant, “The Deli” made some wonderful meals. Cons: We have been going to this hotel for more than a decade. This is the first time we felt that the food and beverage costs were very high. There was nothing on the menu that was the reasonable price. With the addition of tax and service charge to the bill it is then even higher. There is absolutely nowhere on the premises to buy healthy, reasonably priced snacks, fresh fruits, or drinks. The little store at the hotel has overpriced junk snacks. Since we always drink bottled water there, even that was expensive at the little store, at $6 a bottle. We come from Singapore which is expensive city but the cost of food and beverage at the hotel was at least double to triple the cost of Singapore. The refrigerator in the room works, but it’s not very cool." ~Sunanda
