"Pros: A beautiful property with fascinating history! This hotel is in the middle of the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary, which makes it even more beautiful. It is surrounded by lush green forest. Sometimes, adorable animals and a variety of birds are seen too! If you come at the right time, the Himalayan ranges can be seen so clearly. They actually have a wonderful observation deck to witness the grandeur of the Himalayas! The rooms are cosy and comfortable, and the food is great, cooked often with organic vegetables and fruits grown on the property. But the best part about our stay were the hosts, Himanshu and Manisha, who welcomed us with so much warmth and really took care of us. Their hospitality was truly the highlight of the trip. "Pros: I am a retired senior railway officer, just decided to have a solo visit to regain my confidence and strength post pandemic. Chose this location and place for a 5-day sojourn. 03/05/23 to 09/05/23. Was very tentative and apprehensive as I had a confidence deficit. Place is located about 10 km from Almora just near the famous Kasar devi temple. It is a picturesque and ideal location if you want to explore Kumaon region specially Almora . It is managed by two young brothers Harshit and Mayank. This homestay has reasonable facilities for a solo traveller who wants to spend few days in peace, very good and ideal for meditators ,writers ,contemplators, student travellers .Most importantly Kasar Devi is a unique and ideal place for meditators . It is believed that this temple is positioned on the earth's Van Allen belt. The region surrounding the temple has an enormous geomagnetic field. Only two other places in world have similar energy Stonehenge in UK and Machu Pichu in Peru. Swami Vivekananda discovered this place in 1890.This place pulls you for meditation it is true. It is a meditators delight. Further the homestay Turiya niwas is eco friendly and very fairly priced and budget friendly . Don’t expect a star facility but everything can be arranged as per your needs as the hosts are very friendly and knowledgeable about the terrain. Very delicious home cooked food reasonably priced is available by Amma an old ladywho lives in the neighbour hood to this property. If you are solo Mayank can act as your guide and transporter on his scooty. Believe me if you have energy and inclination and really want to explore the area scooty is a good and budget friendly option. Place is ideal if you want to explore and enjoy walks in Binsar forest which is about 16km from this place. Lastly if you have time and inclination the two brothers can arrange your trek to Adi kailash and Darma valley as they are managing treks to these places. Cons: Support furniture and toilet needs improvement. Call bell at door and a wireless bell will be excellent. a microwave in kitchen can be useful." ~Anand
