A major highlight was the boating experience in traditional country boats, which took us through the calm waters of Vembanad Lake. The ride offered breathtaking views and a glimpse into village life across three districts — Kottayam, Ernakulam, and Alappuzha. Our visit to Magic Island was unforgettable: standing in knee-deep water in the middle of the lake while watching the mesmerizing hues of the sunset was truly magical. Do check tide levels with the boatman to plan this trip at the right time. Kids had a great time too, especially with the angling activity. Catching Karimeen fish was a fun and refreshing experience — a welcome break from screen time.
