"Pros: Thank you for a fantastic stay at Machaan Wilderness Lodge. It exceeded all our expectations. We stayed in a Luxury "yurt", which was spacious and had everything we needed, with a fantastic shower and big bathroom, plus a brilliant deck looking out over the grassland and forest. Perfect for watching the birds and hearing the sounds of the forest. You feel very much part of nature here, with an in-house naturalist (Peter - who was great) taking us on an early morning bird-spotting walk, and a tour to Iruppu Falls, pointing out local birds and butterflies and giving us loads of fascinating background. They also helped us organise a couple of safaris, including taking us and picking us up. The safaris were great, with lots wildlife and bird sightings - an excellent spotter/driver who was extremely knowledgeable. No big cats for us, but lots of other people saw them, so we were just a bit unlucky. All the staff were friendly, attentive and made our stay brilliant. No-one was without a smile for us. The food was excellent- including lots of regional specialities, and exceptionally generous Indian breakfasts. We will miss it very much!" ~Christopher
