Many amazing sites are reachable within an hour of driving (Hot Spring River, Kerið, Brúarfoss, Secret Lagoon, and many others). Kids tired of waterfalls will find themselves happy at the Slakki zoo :-) Geysir in walking distance, Gullfoss 10 mins driving.
