"Pros: The location, if you’re just looking to chill, could not be better. If you’re headed to Pyrgos for the Good Friday lights (which I can’t recommend more strongly), this is probably the best place you can stay. Super close to Penelope’s (whose food and staff are amazing). The property is also well-equipped if you’re looking to stay in: kitchen essentials, nice smart TV, jacuzzi, etc. There are a few quirks like having to push a button on a breaker prior to a shower (for extended hot water), but those kinds of things are just the norm in a small village like Pyrgos. Also, the staff that runs the property are super responsive and helpful. The top floor balcony is the perfect place to read a book or watch the sunset.
Cons: The property was great…but there are a couple of things to know about Pyrgos. First, transportation (at least in April) can be a bit difficult and confusing if you don’t have your own car. We thought we could get by on the bus system, but one day we had to rent a car to get to where we needed to go. Even despite this, we would still stay here again because the town’s laid back vibe was so much more relaxing than Fira or Oia. Second, if you’re planning on sleeping in just know that sometimes the town will play bells very loudly at 630 or 730 in the morning…we couldn’t figure out why there were bells Thursday and Saturday (but not Friday)…just good to know if you’re staying up super late." ~John
