"Pros: The staff were super lovely! Made me feel at ease straight away. As a solo female, it's always quite daunting travelling, especially abroad, but I felt so safe. The female at reception also showed me to my room- on the way to the room, we were chatting, I mentioned that it was my birthday and she said "OMG whattt! It's mine tomorrow!"- just super friendly.
The hostel hosts different things each night (so one night is karaoke, another would be pasta night- which was yum), but one of the things they offered was a sunset sail boat trip. When I tell you, how incredible it was. It was 25euros, and transfer from the hostel to the marina was provided, a drink was provided and I got to meet a group of lovely fellow solo travellers. We were taken- on the sailing boat- to a lovely bay, where we had fair amount of time to have a swim around (pretty sure we had a whole hour), then once back on board, were given a drink. On the sail back to the marina, we watched the sunset and listened to music (I'll see if I can find some photo's to attach). Just good vibes.
The communication from the hostel, was also brilliant. I'd even contacted them prior to my arrival, to see if they'd be able to offer advice on how to travel from bus from the airport to the property and they promptly sent step by step instructions/tips. Just fabulous!
The location of the hostel was also ideal. To walk to the beach (a bit where you can plonk your towel/rent a sunbed and have a swim, probably took 10/15 mins). There's shops/restaurants all around- whether you're wanting snacky bits, meals out, drinks or a full on shopping marathon, there's everything.
STAY also provided free aircon, fan, WI-FI (great WI-FI as well) etc. So good.
Cons: Soooo, the only thing that would potentially prevent me from staying again would be the sound of the doors closing- because the rooms within the hostel are pretty echoey, you can constantly hear doors banging (you have to pull the door and close it pretty hard to lock it). If STAY would be able to change the locking system to something like key cards, or just something quieter, I would be back in a heart beat. I had to go to sleep wearing earphones (I am a pretty light sleeper though).
The person staying next to my private room was also out on our shared balcony until gone 3am every night talking loudly (but this obviously isn't STAY's fault, just you obviously don't know who you're going to be staying next to)." ~Jasmine
