I also recommend renting a car for at least a few days—it would be a shame to visit Crete without seeing all its beautiful places, and the host can help you get a discount. Cons: This isn’t about the property itself, but you should know the pros and cons of this location: it’s very quiet and peaceful, but it’s 7 km from Rethymno’s old town center (about a €15 taxi ride) and a 30-minute walk to a large grocery store.
