"Pros: our room was overlooking the pool and the beach and the view was really nice, and despite being above the restaurant we didn't hear much outside noice from the windows. it is really close to rethymno, the taxi usually cost 15-18€ to town. we asked the reception to call us a taxi. there is also a bus that goes to and from the town but there were a lot of people on the stops and we never used it so I can't comment on it. the beach is rocky indeed, so bring shoes for the water. you can also find some on the small shop inside the hotel, they had some for reasonable prices (8-15€). the breakfast is the only good buffet option I think, the pancakes were really nice and it's generally harder to mess up breakfast food. there are some sunbeds being monopolized by some guests leaving their towels on but we were still able to find sunbeds. most of the staff was friendly. overall we found the facilities to be clean, with some possible improvements to be made here and there, and we did enjoy our stay. Cons: despite us mostly having an enjoyable stay we did find some room for improvement. the biggest problem we encountered was that you can hear everything in the corridor; people walking, people talking, doors opening and closing. it didn't help that the guests didn't try to keep quiet while walking in the corridor either. we found the food to be really oily (especially at dinner). there was a dessert that was spoiled (though that happened only once), some of the foods at dinner also were really salty. I would advise booking breakfast only instead of half board if you don't usually have lunch and going to town for dinner. the ping pong table's rackets are all peeling off and the balls don't bounce. there is a 5€ deposit to get a beach towel, which would be fine maybe in a different hotel but for a supposedly 5 star all inclusive hotel I find it a bit odd. there is also a 3€ daily charge if you want to use the safe, which I've never heard of before in my life. the sunbeds could be comfier. also if you haven't booked all-inclusive; avoid getting cocktails at the beach bar, they don't really put any alcohol in there, but they do taste nice." ~Yasemin
