"Pros: We stayed 4 days at the Port Square Hotel in Piraeus before our cruise. The hotel is ideally situated to the Metro /Train Station (20 meters) . This made it super easy to get around & see the sights of Athens by public transport as well as Hop On /Off Buses. The hotel has an excellent restaurant where the food is cooked right in front of you. The other star of this stay is the Port of Piraeus itself, which is a 24/7 ferry / cruise port. Throngs of people coming & going to/ from the various islands / cruise ships at all times. The Port Square is right there in front of all this activity. There are plenty of security & police around, so the area felt very safe. We were out during the daytime up to approx 10pm every night & did not see anything untoward happening. Metro door to door from the Airport for €9/person. Journey time 1 Hr as the Airport is well out of the city. Cons: Nothing to dislike." ~Seamus
