"Pros: The apartment was very spacious, equipped with everything you need and with the best host, Ioannis, who is absolutely amazing, great communication with him, he's willing to help you with any needs. This accommodation is made of three floors, just a few steps to the beach, supermarket and taverns. In the "underground level", which also has an entrance from the side of the house, there are two bedrooms and a bathroom, on the ground level is the kitchen and living room and on the top level there is another bedroom and bathroom with an entrance to a spacious terrace. Every room has air conditioning. Cons: For people with reduced mobility, one thing can be uncomfortable. The levels of the house are separated by quite steep stairs. Otherwise I have nothing to say against the Anassa home." ~Anna

"Pros: The hotel itself is great. The room was spacious especially for a family of 3 like us and fully equipped. Public parking at the premises, always easy to find especially with Mr. George’s help. The location is absolutely perfect. Just a few steps away from the beach and the pedestrian area with all the restaurants, bars, cafes and shops which mattered a lot when you want to go out with a child and don’t want to drive. But the best feature of this hotel is for sure it’s owners, Mr George and Mrs Maria. We booked the room late and while others hotels in makri Gualos simply denied us, these two the welcomed us with arms wide open. They had for us too many water bottles in the fridge as well as things for breakfast including local honey. They even had beers in the fridge for us. Mrs Maria also brought us fresh fruit and cake she baked herself! But it’s not just about these things that they gave us. They truly represent the Greek filoxenia which to be honest, I personally haven’t found for a while even in Crete. We never met them before yet they really made us feel like friends and even our daughter who is 3 years old was looking for them every time we got back to the room after the beach or dinner. We found the hotel by accident but because of that good luck, we never have to look for another place to stay again in Makri Gualos.
