"Pros: The location is excellent and magical! We wanted a quiet, serene and peaceful place to connect with nature and the place exceeded our expectations. The view from no 3 is absolutely spectacular. The rooms are surrounded by huge windows with views of the sparkling aquamarine sea, the cliffs and beautiful trees & plants down below. The villa sits on a cliff and a 3 minute easy walk down the trail you reach the very quiet and private beach. It is legally a naturist beach and so you can choose to fully connect with nature by sunbathing & swimming in the nude, with no worries. This beach is very special as you can see the layering of rock & mineral formations across the millennia! Snorkelling was also great with views of colourful parrot fish & other different fish species. A few minutes drive away is a supermarket in the village of Kastri as well as an excellent restaurant called Jimmy’s tavern. Georgia the owner is very hospitable and we frequented the restaurant almost each day! We are vegan, and they have plenty of healthy & delicious options. She actually grows her organic vegetable close to Skouros Villa. The bed & facilities at the villa were perfect. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom is so spacious. The kitchen stove area is not too big but for a holiday it is perfect. You also have the opportunity to feed and play with the cats who live on the premises. We had a late flight going back to the Uk and the owner let us stay till the evening with no extra charge. October is a perfect time to travel to Crete as it’s still hot but yet not too busy. "Pros: Skouro had the most amazing view, the beach was so peaceful and just a short walk down a rocky path. The apartment was very clean and there was excellent air-conditioning and very good WiFi. The WC/shower were spotlessly clean and very good. In the kitchen area it was clean too and had everything needed. The bed also was very comfortable. And there was a great terrace outside. We had the apartment with the low ceiling, but for us it wasn't a problem as we are not very tall. Anyone taller would have a problem. It was a little like being in a cabin on a small boat. Cosy but not much head room. The village had a lot of lovely places to eat and a beautiful harbour. It's about a 20 minute walk or 5 minutes in a car. There were 2 small supermarkets, everywhere was very good value. And exceptionally laid back and friendly. There were some stray cats. Quite a lot of flies, but we got spray and it was fine. Cons: The stray cats and there were quite a lot of flies outside. I struggled with the gate, opening and closing.." ~Frances
