"Pros: Good location with handy supermarket opposite property. Parking off street. Spacious rooms. Good Wi Fi. Large balcony with easy access to jetty and waterfront. Property is in fact a block with four apartments in its own grounds we had impression from photos it was a going to be a separate house this did not matter to us but We had some difficulty to identifying property because we did not initially have local sim card to access internet which would have allowed down load of more detailed location and access details issued prior to arrival when we were travelling. Friendly Neighbours helped out with phone call for us. Supermarket opposite property sells sim cards! Jetty and kayak a bonus. Enjoyed swimming off Jetty. Good communication with owners during booking period and payment via bank transfer. Helpful for us to be quoted in euro also. Cons: A few towel rails and some hooks in bathrooms would be useful." ~Jones

"Pros: Location: it is right on the water, and in the far distance, you can see the area where the Marae Taputapuatea is located. There is a canoe available to use (2 adults) for free. There is an island you can paddle out to but we didn't do that because of a lack of time. You can swim in the water in front of the accommodation. The dining and kitchen area face out over the water - great for watching the sun set. The owner contacted a tour company late on a Saturday so that my family could visit Tahaa for the day. The company sent a taxi to pick/drop us off. You can wash your clothes (user pays), and hang them out on a line in the car porch at the side of the accommodation. If you were fit, you could walk to the local food store. We hired a car from Raiatea, so shopped in the main part of town. Ask if you can try some of the fruit on the trees of the accommodation - I wish we had! The hosts were very friendly. Nice lounge area. Excellent information sent out about how to locate the accommodation: professionally done. The owners don't tend to the money (outside agency does..and they were very accommodating). You can lock a room but not the accommodation. (I'm too much of a town person so think about that stuff). The accommodation is about an hour's trip to the marae Taputapuatea, the area also has opening hours for the parking area; remember you can't walk on the stone structures. Nice lounge area. The prices quoted to me for the Tahaa trip were not the same as what I paid (also, you need to do that in cash). It was a bit uncomfortable asking about that at the end of our trip. The hosts live in the room next to the accommodation. The accommodation was still lived in: drawers were filled with belongings, the upstairs area was out of bounds as personal belongings were there too. It changed the feel of staying at the place, almost like we were encroaching on someone's home. The owners contacted us after we left to see if we had taken a book and an international charging lead (we hadn't..if you saw how much gear we were already flying home, you'd understand why that question was odd). I hope those things show up, because we didn't touch either of them. As it was really humid and hot, we wanted to keep the curtains open so the ocean breeze could come in. But we didn't because of the kitchen lights and the public area). As the dining/kitchen is outside and communal, we kept the curtain closed at night for privacy. The lights are kept on in the kitchen all night attracting insects. I switched the lights off a couple of times when the lounge curtain (leading out to the kitchen area) to air the place out, but the lights were put back on. There are two fans but it is the tropics, so we were going to be hot and sticky anyway. The fridge/freezer could do with a clean (notably, the communal area as the fridge in the accommodation is a beer fridge) There was not a lot of space to store our food. Bring your own soap, including to wash your hands in the bathroom. Make sure you know how to use the stove before trying to cook. Internet was slow, but that's not the end of the world either." ~Craig
