"Pros: Beautiful location in Opunohu Bay, and away from the shore so no mozzies! Fab breakfast of fruits, bread & jams, plus excellent coffee every morning. The V berth / Captain’s cabin that I stayed in is huge for a monohull, and comfy, and has an ensuite loo too, so feels very private. You can cook your own foods on the gas stove and put perishables like cheeses, salamis, etc, in the chest-fridge. The Mori Ora started life up north in the Baltic, and then ended up in the Tropics, so she’s done some traveling and has a soul; she’s not just some floating-lounge (as many charter boats and catamarans are). JP was the perfect host (Doris was away); he is very helpful, and very interesting to chat to. Our sailing afternoon was great fun .. once I got the hang of the helm/wheel .. and further fueled my ambition to become a sailor myself! Had my first ever rain-shower on deck (but I needed to use the fresh water shower at the stern to wash the shampoo out of my hair as the rain ran out, ha ha). I also grabbed the opportunity to go parasailing over the bay and reef with a local company moored nearby at the marina. My three night stay was over too quickly … I only wish I could press repeat! (Wee traveling companion Morag says the same).
Cons: Nothing. My dream is to own and live on a similar boat myself one day." ~Theresa
