"Pros: The property was beautiful. There was lots of play area outside for the kids and the sauna was great. Cons: The property is listed as having 5 beds, but there are 3. The will bring in a rollaway bed if you want another one. We specifically chose this home to have enough beds for myself, my husband and our 4 boys. Our 19 and 16 year old boys ended up having to share a bed or one sleep on a tiny rollaway. This was false advertising at best. Also, the instructions for the appliances are very different and weren’t clear enough for American travelers. We don’t normally turn the water on from a separate location from the dishwasher in order to run it. Appliances are different which is understandable, but clearer instructions would be helpful. The owner did respond quickly to our questions, though." ~Melynda

"Pros: The villa is just perfect! It is well-maintained and has everything you need, including extra toys for kids, a sleigh, a BBQ, and a fully equipped kitchen—on top of everything already mentioned by the host. We've been to Ruka before and, while we had a bigger villa there, I think this one is excellent. It is right by the lake, yet just a short drive or even a walk to Levi. One of the highlights was seeing the northern lights for three nights in a row! The villa is fairly remote from artificial lights, making it an ideal spot for viewing them from the frozen lake. Inside, the villa was warm and cozy. The sauna, fireplace, and kitchen facilities were all easy to use. We had read some reviews about guests having trouble collecting the keys, so we contacted the owner via Booking.com beforehand. Everything was arranged smoothly, and all necessary local forms were completed ahead of time. Even though our flight arrived at 22:30 and we reached the villa around 23:30, we had no issues picking up the keys. They were stored in a secure location, and the owner provided clear instructions. Additionally, we were given a direct phone number in case of any emergencies. This villa offers great value for money, a perfect location for any season, and a safe and convenient stay close to Levi and local shops. We would absolutely return and highly recommend this villa!
