"Pros: After a long 4 and a half hour drive from Las Terrenas we arrived looking a little worse for wear, haha. Walking into this property felt surreal and even though we were schlepping through the door with our backpacking backpacks we were treated with nothing but respect. We were welcomed with a cocktail during check in and given an overview of the property. There was a miscommunication about the room type we booked and prefered two queen beds instead of a king bed and our concierge remedied this quickly and easily. This was our "splurge" during our Dominican Republic adventure. When all was said and done, the price we paid was a tremendous value for the outstanding service we received. The room was very comfortable and well appointed. The L'Occitane toiletries and mini zen sand garden with incense really impressed me and my bestie travel companion. In fact, they were generous in giving us extra shampoo and conditioner at our request when leaving. Score! Spending a day on their perfectly manicured beach was just what we needed. Nibbling on lobster rolls while enjoying Piña Coladas and Mojitos was a highlight for sure. Local vendors walked through our beach zone and my friend and I ended up purchasing beautiful Larimar and Amber jewelry. We didn't feel hassled and appreciated that approved vendors wore chambray shirts with name tags and a number indicating they were legit. My friend and I speak minimal spanish and it was fun practicing with the locals. If you are looking for a place to feel at peace and unwind, Grand Caribe Beach Club and Spa- Playa Los Corales is the place for you. I look forward to my next visit. <3"
