"Pros: Zlarin is beautiful. Strangely, and unexpectedly, many of the surfaces were not dusty. The air conditioning worked well. It was the only accommodation in Zlarin available to us when we needed it. Cons: The house is someone's house, not a guest house: it was full of the owner's stuff: clothes, appliances, decor, tools, and whatnot. Nobody had been in the house any time recently: there were spider webs in corridors, between chairs and wall, kitchen sink, and doors. We were two people, and the sheets of the second bed were just folded, stacked on top of the first bed. The bottom sheet of the second bed was made into a messy bundle, which made us feel it was dirty. To our displeasure, we had to dig around to find the stash of sheets to accommodate ourselves with clean sheets. The toilet was dirty. There was no shower in the bathroom: the only shower available was an outdoor shower, visible from the street. The trash from the previous guests was still in the trash bin. The bottom hinge of the fence gate was broken, and the door to the basement was open, and then would not lock." ~Alvaro
