"Pros: The apartment is beautiful, has all the kitchen facilities you'd need, and is in a great location - on top of one of the hills of Valparaiso, overlooking the sea, and with a funicular that takes you from the bottom of the hill to just a 2 minute walk to the apartment building (for only 100 pesos). The staff at reception are really friendly. If it wasn't for the design of the building and the dangerous staircase, I would have given this a 9 or 10. Cons: The design of the apartment building is completely mad, it feels like it has been over-complicated by the designers. To access this particular apartment, you enter the building reception area at street level (which is called floor '11'), take one lift down to floor 9, walk across a dark multi-storey car park, get in another lift, and then go up to floor 13. Looking out the window, you're only two floors above street level. It was a mission every time I came back to the apartment to get to my room! A complete labyrinth! In the apartment itself, please be aware that the stairs up to the bed area above the kitchen are concrete and of an open style - i.e. with no backs to them. Plus they finish right in front of a glass door at the bottom. And the bed area is also of an open style, with a sheer drop down to the kitchen area (a single bar across exists but it wouldn't do much to break a fall). Definitely not a safe apartment if you have young children or elderly guests." ~Jennifer
