"Pros: This place was awesome. Slept in bamboo huts Clean tidy. On the mangrove swap. Expect the odd lizard about. Host was so friendly and here food was delicious. All home made and homemade bread too. Stay three night low season had place to ourselves. Loved it here. For an experience not to forget go. You can even hire kayaks out and we saw an otter! But we especially enjoyed the village atmosphere: boozing with fisherman on a rainy day while waiting for the seafood hand-selected from the boat’s catch the night before, to be prepared for our enjoyment. Don’t miss the cornershop’s steamed pumpkin cake! Cons: From a Western perspective, you might find that the Cambodian experience generally, feels a bit different — sometimes in ways that catch you off guard. Things don’t always work the way you might expect, and that can be disappointing if you're holding them up to a ‘Western’ standard. But they can also be the things that add to the country’s charm. There was something uniquely Cambodian about the whole Palm Beach experience — a rawness, warmth, and authenticity that I haven’t found elsewhere. And if you can let go of the idea that everything should run like it does back home, you’ll find so, so much to enjoy. Salacia’s Suite captures that balance wonderfully. It’s welcoming, comfortable and friendly without pretending to offer the polish of a resort. It’s not about five-star perfection — it’s about character, atmosphere, and making you feel like you’re part of the place.
