"Pros: Better than nothing I guess. Cons: The host was quite rude. We arrived in the allowed range for check in, but the host hadn't noticed that there is a booking, maybe because we booked it the same day. Claims he didn't get notified. Sure, annoying but whatever. The host wasn't in town, so he wanted us to wait, "go drink coffee" or something similar he said. The check in is already quite late, so we didn't want to lose our rest of the day, so I asked if we can check in later, or just leave the keys somewhere so that we can self check-in. He grunted and made some incoherent noises and hung up. I took it as him not being happy with the compromise, but he would do it. I was being as polite and understanding as possible, but after all we paid to have a nice time and do our planned things, not my fault that he didn't know he has to book us, so we left and went enjoying the nature. I was out of service for a very short time, but after that I had a missed call from him, who was saying he is in front of the room waiting for us. I told him what I said last time, emphasizing the part where he can leave the keys somewhere or at someone he knows so that we can self check-in, but he grunted and moaned without saying anything coherent and HUNG UP AGAIN. This time I called him to let me know what's the plan so that there is no more misunderstanding, he grunted a bit and told me he will just wait for us. I said fine and continued our walk in the nature, albeit a bit under pressure. We got back to the room still in the allowed check-in range which cut our walk short, despite it not being my fault that he missed the check-in. Admittedly, in real life he was a bit more chill, but the sour taste was already there. I don't blame him that the situation happened, I blame him for the incredibly rude and incoherent way she handled it. Then there were other issues in the room. The curtains were too thin, so there was no privacy. The host had left his used personal belongings there." ~Мартин
