"Pros: The gentleman owner of the place helped us a lot as we could not stay at the accommodation we booked back in November. (It was July now)
He swiftly arranged for us to stay with a neighbour, a nice, welcoming lady who managed to put us up. We were more than grateful for his helpful and active approach. He even helped us with getting some of our money back from booking.com as we were unable to call or write anybody as numbers for booking did not work and we couldn´t even write an email.
Thank you one more time for your help and saving our holiday in Varna. (It was, by the way, a very nice place to stay - :)
Cons: Well, where to start. I booked a hostel back in November. In January, I got a message " booking closed". I wrote an email to property to make sure our booking was safe but got an answer in Bulgarian which I didn´t understand. ( I should have used the google translator- I know ! ) So I went to the official website of the hostel and checked the booking there. Everything seemed fine - all confirmed. When we arrived to the property in July, we were told we didn´t have a reservation and the hostel was full. The lady owner claimed they closed the booking in January. I tried to explain that I booked in November and got no cancellation email. I even paid the whole amount for a 4- night stay and had a confirmation about that. (she said she didn´t get any money) Nothing helped. We could not stay and we didn´t get the money back from her. It all had a happy ending for us ( check the "what did you like?" section above) but I am afraid, speaking very little English and her dismissing / unhelpful approach wasn´t the best way how to treat your guests.
