"Pros: Building is very nice with three fast elevators and 24/7 reception; area is decent - seems "safe," for a guy to walk around up until early evening; maybe later. I can't speak for how safe women would feel. Avenida Paulista is about a 20 minute walk but up two very steep hills - depending on where along that long street you're heading.
Cons: The walls in the apartment have grime that, no doubt, has accumulated over the course of many many guests staying here. I really don't get how people put marks on the wall. I treat places I stay in like my home. The host intends to re-paint in August but this level of grime, most noticeable low on the wall on the left side of the bed, should never have been allowed to accumulate. We pay quite a bit for the cleaning fee. Am I being too demanding? NOTE that this is a common occurrence in apartment rentals - no matter how you book them - even in much more expensive places. I suppose what happens is that a new cleaner is contracted, comes in and does the normal cleaning and, seeing the grime on the walls, thinks, "They don't pay me enough to clean all that,""
