"Pros: A picturesque house, at the end of a quiet street in Bialowieza but 5min walk to the Palacowy Park and 5min walk to the Skansen. Beautiful, large garden - very peaceful, with a garden swing and with a view over to the forest ... Highly recommended.
Regional .Recommendations when staying at Dwirek in addition to the usual attractions mentioned in any guidebook: 1. Fantastc bakery, Piekarnia Podolszynscy, in Hajnowka, open every day - fresh bread baked 3 times a day: chleb wiejski, chleb pytlowy, chleb zytni, chalki, jagodzianki, rozki - fabulous taste and wonderful quality; 2. Restaurant Fanaberia in Bialowieza: open from 9am for breakfast and good coffee and Marcinek (theirs was one of the best!); lunch and dinner menu full of local specialities - kartacze highly recommended although babka ziemniaczana close second - also fabulous duck!; 3. Cafe Frog, Bialowieza - only open at certain times at the old Bialowieza Palac Station but full of character, good coffee and and fantastc fruit tarts (raspberry one and plum one were particularly good); 4. Visiting Cerkiew/the orthodox church w Bialowiezy - ps check for times when open for guided tours only, time slots listed on the little notice board next to it/ interior designed for the tsars including the icons; 5. Dwor Bartnika, Narewka: what a find! First of all, the place where one can buy their unique honey: from their own bees but with added bee milk and propolis - unique product on sale at the Restaurant there with many healing properies/ one and only such kind - their Restaurant also serves fantastic local food! When visiting, please ask to see their private museum devoted to bees and bee keeping - a very interesting place, with unusual and valuable objects not to be seen anywhere else! 5.
Cons: N/a" ~Agnieszka
"Pros: Warm welcome from the tenant of the house (however, she only speaks Polish, but her son was on the phone to ensure the translation in English).
Cons: The comfort of the beds is just OK. No window shutters, just a light curtain on each window, leaving the light entering the house from 4am (in May). All the furnishers are "rustic" but "authentic" and aligned with the style of the house." ~Patrice
"Pros: Great location close to everything in the town, but relatively quiet. Very clean apartment. Very kind hosts!
Cons: As others have said, the bathroom is a bit small." ~Emily
