"Pros: Berghotel Malta is located in absolutely stunning mountain surroundings. The location alone makes the stay worthwhile, offering breathtaking views and direct access to beautiful hiking trails. The breakfast was reasonable and the food overall was enjoyable. The view from the hotel is truly wonderful, and we would return again for the mountains and nature alone.
Cons: However, the hotel is older, and that comes with some downsides. Noise from neighboring rooms and the corridor was noticeable, especially in the early morning when sounds from the dining area on the lower floors carried up. The room design includes two small steps—one leading to a tiny hallway and another to the bathroom. These are easy to miss and can be a tripping hazard, especially the one that is about 2 cm high.
Additionally, the tap water is not drinkable. Although the hotel offers to provide still water, we were repeatedly given sparkling water and had to ask several times just to get still water for brushing teeth or filling bottles for hikes.
One more thing to be aware of: the road leading to the hotel includes two waiting points, as traffic in some sections is one-way only. The maximum waiting time can be up to 20 minutes."
