"Pros: The property is in an excellent location. Pier Streets runs into the boardwalk. Its minutes to a cool cafe on the boardwalk and the restaurants and cafes of Jetty Street. The house is a beautiful old home with a huge modern kitchen. 9ft ceilings and stained glass windows. Cons: Some instructions on how to use an induction cooktop would be useful. The TV in the loungeroom seems to have volume issues going on and up and down. It was hard to connect to streaming services, but none of these things were a big deal. Clearer details on what is in the kitchen (Coffee Pods, Tea, Oil, Salt and Pepper etc)" ~Sharon

"Pros: We spent a week in March 2025 at "Hidden Haven" in Glenelg. It was a very comfortable place to stay and extremely quiet, despite being fairly close to the popular Glenelg foreshores. It was very well-equipped with a good kitchen, a bathroom, a laundry (with an extra toilet), and both a washing machine and separate dryer, plus drying rack. Clothes generally dried in 1-2 days on the drying rack, and there is space in the laundry to leave the rack in place. The living room had two comfortable sofas and a coffee table and was in an open space area with the dining table. There were two bedrooms, both with queen or double beds. The beds and pillows were comfortable. There is air conditioning in the living room and the main bedroom, with a fan in the second bedroom. There was secure off street parking via a large, sliding gate at the rear laneway, operated via a remote which came as part of a second key set. There is also some unlimited-time street parking. It was one of four, single level villas in the development, with a nicely landscaped walkway to the furthest villa from the road. The other three villas were very quiet. I just immediately felt "at home" from the moment I walked in and it was a very comfortable stay. One of the stops on the Glenelg Tram is a short walk away, and the tram takes you easily into the City in maybe about 30 minutes. We also drove into the City and found parking easy (compared with Sydney). Instructions from the property managers for checking in and out were really clear. I would happily stay here again if I were in Adelaide. Cons: Reversing into the car parking space from the rear laneway, through the opened sliding gate, was a bit tricky at first, but we got better at it. We had a Toyota Camry and found that the parking space was big enough, once you were through the opening via the sliding gate. Unfortunately, the watering system for the villa's back garden next to the deck had not been working, probably for some time. The battery in the Holman controller had gone flat, as indicated by the absence of the operating light in the controller. We bought a new battery, installed it and got the system working again, but took the battery out and left it in the kitchen with a note. Reviews on the internet suggest that this controller can sometimes malfunction and not turn off as programmed, and we didn't want to take the risk. This back deck would be much, much nicer with living plants (as per the photos) rather than an assortment of dead and some living ones. We resuscitated some plants with hand watering, but they will die again if it is dry. Maybe the area needs to be re-landscaped with plants that require very little water. As other reviewers have noted, a second hand towel in the toilet next to the laundry would be useful." ~Jane
