"Pros: Communicated ahead of time through WhatsApp. Host was responsive, but somewhat minimalist answers. Location near LOTS of fantastic restaurants and shops. Plenty of space. Beds comfortable. Bedroom A/C's worked very well. Host helped us arrange airport pickup. Driver she arranged ended up helping us throughout the weekend to get to the National Park (amazing!) and back to the airport with a bigger vehicle for all our luggage. Cons: Host let us know she would take US dollars, but failed to mention in any message that the bills had to be ABSOLUTELY pristine: no tears - not even teeny tiny ones, no markings whatsoever, no big creases, wrinkles or folds, no bent corners, and completely with no wear at all. She spent a long time rejecting bills and making us very uncomfortable about revealing more and more bills in our possession. Made us worry about a scam or attempting to see how much cash we were carrying. In the end, we did run into the same issue with cab drivers and other merchants throughout Puerto Iguazu and other small towns in Argentina, Uruguay and Chile, so she was not trying to pull anything over on us. However, we did ask her specific questions about the acceptance of US bills in the area in our WhatsApp correspondence, where she had the opportunity to inform us of the very particular requirements of the appearance of the bills. Not in any travel post did we see any mention of it and it really set us on our heels right off the beginning of our travels throughout Argentina and our other tourist towns. We had to use credit cards more than the cash we planned on using. A/C didn't work in kitchen and it was a VERY hot weekend I was mugged right outside the apartment. Be VERY careful with phones and wallets. Luckily the thief grabbed a small purse that held my passport and he was not interested in that, so he tossed it aside as he ran away.
